Mistique

My feet will not be bound.
My eyes will not be sewn
    or stapled daintily shut
    like floral print draperies
    bound and gagged my lips--

I am not a flower.
Not a hummingbird, flighty and frail.

I am a calculating and cool-intented
viper lain in wait--
    we are not boa-constricted;
    we constrict.
